Warm Ups & Cool Downs. - NEVER skip them.

Jan 25, 2021

Why the warm ups and cool downs are important and should NOT be skipped.

Done correctly, warming up and cooling down may offer help in reducing your risk of injury and improving your results. It also aids in additional weight loss.

Before we begin any routine inside of Grow Young Fitness, we do a gentle warm up. Then we exercise. Then we cool down and stretch.

If you are doing more than 1 routine back to back, NEVER skip the warm up and cool down. Do every video from start to finish.

This keeps your heart rate moving up and down and in the optimized fat burning/weight loss zone.

The more it moves up and down, the more effective exercise is for weight loss.

(That is why when many people run on a treadmill for hours, they never lose weight. They stay high the whole time without constant change.)

For effective weight loss, the heart rate must move up and down throughout, which is implemented in EVERY Grow Young Fitness workout.

Why warm up and cool down

Warming up helps prepare your body for exercise. A warmup gradually increases your cardiovascular system by raising your body temperature and increasing blood flow to your muscles. Warming up will also help reduce muscle soreness and lessen your risk of injury which is important.

Cooling down after your workout allows for a gradual recovery of heart rate and blood pressure.

Never skip a Grow Young Fitness warmup/cool down, even if doing back to back workouts.

How to warm up

Simply follow the Grow Young Fitness workouts as they are shown on the video.

Do not skip sections and you will be doing the most proper form of exercise.

(Note: There are practically no programs out there that I have seen that actually do this and emphasize the importance. That is why I added it to all of my workouts. I have found with my 15+ years experience in exercise, that this little thing makes a HUGE difference in the results you will see.)

How to cool down

Cooling down is similar to warming up. Simply follow the workouts as shown in the video.

If there is a relax at the end, do it as well. Deep Breathing after certain types of exercises has benefits. (Not all routines have this, but the ones that do, the relax’s are there for a scientific reason.)

A word about stretching

Always do the stretches as best you can. If you can’t quite reach as far, only go as far as you can. Over time, you will become more flexible.

The goal is to feel a stretch, not to reach as far as possible.

Keep It Movin’!

Stay consistent and do the workouts as they are shown. Remember, never skip sections as they are there for a very specific reason.
