Manage Chronic Diseases by Keeping it Moving


Chronic diseases are the leading cause of death and disability in the United States. Nearly half of all American adults have had one or more chronic conditions and the leading causes of death have been linked to chronic conditions.

Health experts regularly claim that exercise such as is one of the top things you can do to lower your risk of developing one of these chronic problems in the first place.  However, it is also important to know that exercise can play a role in managing problems and symptoms you may already be experiencing.

Risk factors and symptoms of various chronic conditions such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol levels, persisting pain, and inflammation all have been seen to improve from increasing fitness and physical activity as many members of the Founders’ Club are experiencing! When you exercise, you get better!. 

Aerobic exercise can help prevent heart disease such as the Cardio, Foundation, or Boxing routines.  If you have already developed heart problems such as high blood pressure or high cholesterol, moderate physical activity can help stop those problems from causing more serious ones such as a heart attack or stroke. It is now more important than ever to be exercising with Grow Young Fitness!

Strength training can build stronger muscles and promotes healthy joints, helping to keep us mobile such as the Strictly Strength, Foundation, Core, Balance, Yoga, and other therapy workouts.   Also, strength training helps decrease arthritis pain. 

Exercise Grow Young Fitness Exercises can even improve glucose levels in people with type 2 diabetes.  Simple exercises to improve your flexibility can help improve a range of joint motions and reduce  the risk for potential falls.

Results without Medication

Exercise has many positive effects!  Exercise can enhance sleep, protect and improve brain function, develop or maintain bone, muscle, heart and other connective tissues, and promote a healthy immune system.  Healthy, active bodies can see wounds heal faster.  Active adults can often reduce doses in current mediation and disease severity is often seen to improve considerably - Do not stop medications or lower doses without your doctors approval!  

When it comes to the brain, exercise promotes the release of a number of factors that protect neurons, improving recovery from injury. Staying active can improve the integrity of the blood–brain barrier which is a group of  blood vessels that control what gets transported from the blood into the brain.  This area of the body makes sure toxins, pathogens, and inflammation stay out, and helpful cells and molecules get in.  All those things are important when it comes to staving off chronic disease.  Neuron damage and inflammation in the brain are known to happen in people who have multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer’s disease, and Parkinson’s disease. workouts are here to help your brain as well!

There isn’t a condition out there that Grow Young Fitness can’t help!  There’s a lot of conversation about how to exercise to get a certain body type, however, people can overlook the fact that a huge function of exercise is to maintain and improve our overall health.
